Do I have to?

I'm sitting here in my oh-so-comfy bed contemplating what my day has in store. School is not exactly on my "want to do" list. But I guess I should go, as it is my only day of classes this week. But it just really doesn't sound fun today. I would rather spend the day doing fun things like reading or scrapbooking. I would also like to make a trip down to the hospital to visit my dad. Sigh. Oh well.
But... once I am done with school tonight, I get to come home and play with this little guy:

He makes me laugh.

A Few of My Favorite Things...

Thanksgiving is only 4 days away! I am so excited to allow myself to be completely gluttonous for an entire day. I'm looking forward to Grandma's turkey gravy and pumpkin pie. But mostly I am excited for the whole day (and days surrounding it) that I get to spend with my family. No school, no work. Just family. What more could be better?

I am also thankful for:

My family is the best!

Did you ever say "When I grow up, I want to be..."? I'm almost there. But I don't think I am grown up yet. Good thing I will be teaching teenagers who are still fairly immature, too!

Freedom. America is a pretty spectacular place!

Disney movie Sundays in apartment 113!

My Job. I love my co-workers, and I love being able to help people get better. I'm so sad I will only be there 9 more months. You kind of get attached to a place after being there for 7 years.
I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Life Is Good

As I sit here watching High School Musical 2 with my two favorite roomies, I can't help but think that life is good. They are awesome, and I am so lucky to have them in my life. We have so much fun together, and there isn't anyone else I would want to be crazy with than these two lovely ladies. Mare & Kels... You complete me. :)

Family Photos

We took family pictures last Sunday at a place by the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. It was such a fun place and was perfect for pictures. It's been two years since our last family photo, so it was time to get them done! Dad took the pictures of the kids, and I took the rest. I guess I should clarify... the tripod helped me a little! Who needs a photographer when you can set the timer on the camera and run into the picture? :)

Skyler is looking so grown up! I can't believe he's almost 7!

Until Next Season...

Yesterday marked the end of BYU's home game season. So sad. I have thoroughly enjoyed going to the games and am sad that I have to wait another year for more games. Sigh. But now I can look forward to basketball games!
Since it was the last game, and my last chance to partake of a delicious Cougar dog, I took full advantage of that opportunity. It was quite tasty! It was the perfect day for a game... the sun was out, the temperature wasn't too bad, and I was surrounded by fellow fans who love the game as much as I do.

Now all the Cougs need to do is beat Air Force and Utah. Good luck, boys!

Say Cheese!

Skyler is such a funny little guy. I wanted a picture of the two of us while we were baking cookies... apparently that task is nearly impossible for a six year old! He would smile up until he would hear the camera beep, then he'd quickly switch to a goofy face! It took four goofy pictures before we finally got one good one! He thought he was pretty dang funny. (okay, so it was pretty hilarious!)

This was the first one...

Wait, let's try again...

There we go!

Halloween Fun!

Now I know it's been far too long since I last posted, and I apologize, but I have been a busy girl, as the next few posts will show. I'm sorry for the excessive amount of pictures and postage, but so much has been going on that I just had to post it all! So sit back, relax, and enjoy!

The Family! Chaz & Nicole made such a cute preppy couple! They had the part down to a science! Chaz walked the walk and talked the talk and Nicole was a perfect little ditz!

Halloween isn't complete without a visit to the Liechty Spook Alley! Doug changed it up a little and dressed up as the Joker this year instead of what he usually is (a monster of some sort, I'm not really sure what exactly it is!). He walked and talked just like the Joker... it was a little eerie! Cute little Max the Cowboy and Cole the McQueen Racecar Driver are always so fun to see, too!

Um... Mare and I found the hat isle at Partyland while Kels went searching for pirate gear

Corn Belly's = Too Much Fun

I had never been to a corn maze, and every year I pester Kels to no end to go with me. It finally worked! Haha. We got a group of friends together and headed up to Corn Belly's at Thanksgiving Point! Now this place was more than just a corn maze. It was a wonderland of oodles and oodles of fun for all ages! Oh my. There were so many things to do! We all came to the conclusion that the corn maze was actually the lamest part of the whole night. Here's a little peek into our fun-filled evening of corn and all things fun!

Rock-a bye baby...

The giant jumping pillow! This was one of my favorite activities of the whole night! I don't think any of us have giggled like that since we were kids!

Roomies!!!

The House of Corn. It was like a sand box, but with kernels of corn! It was a blast! Tyler dug a hole and buried me up to my neck... I felt like I was at the beach! (only corn doesn't coat your skin the way sand does) It soon evolved into a corn-throwing fest and corn was flying everywhere! (well, until a small boy kindly pointed out the "No Throwing Corn" sign on the wall... oops)

Other events of the night included bull roping (okay, so it wasn't a real bull, and I didn't actually rope one, but it was still fun to try it!), huge slides, duck races and pedal go-karts. It was such a fun night! Who knew that what we went there for (the corn maze) would turn out to be our least favorite thing of all?!?!?

Tasty Treats

I love the holidays for so many reasons, but one reason on the top of my list is all the treats that are associated with the holidays! I am a big fan of homemade treats, and self control is REALLY difficult to possess when you are surrounded on every side by all kids of tasty goodies to eat. And to think this is only the beginning it all! I still have to get through Thanksgiving and Christmas!

My mom and I made hundreds of sugar cookies this year! These are the yummiest sugar cookies I've ever had, and I look forward to the few holidays each year that my mom makes them!

Aren't they cute?

I got ambitious this year and thought I would try something new. (Just a little shout out to Jules for inspiring me to try this!) These turned out pretty cute!

No Boys Allowed

So Mare and I were left to our own devices one Friday night a couple of weeks ago (Kels and Liz were out partying). What are two crazy college-aged girls supposed to do when they are the only ones left in the apartment? Build a fort, of course! Now you might think that fort-making is only for youngsters, but you, my friend, are mistaken.
We had so much fun planning it all out and building it. And the best part of all is that we actually slept in it! That's right. We even took our mattresses off our beds and put them into our fort so that we could sleep in comfort! It was pure magic! The only part we were missing was the "No Boys Allowed" sign on the front door. (Don't worry... we thought of putting one up, but just didn't get around to it!)
I also learned that one does not need safety pins to pin sheets together. Since we didn't have any in our possession, we improvised. I found some packing tape, straight pins and push pins, and those worked pretty well, but Mare thought that earrings might work. And they did... very nicely! They even added a little pizzaz to our fort!
